What I offer.
I am a qualified, BACP registered therapeutic counsellor with a broad range of experience from working with children, young people and adults in a number of different environments and contexts including schools, colleges, crisis centres, suicide prevention and bereavement services.
I take a person centred approach to my work, which means that we look at the problems you are currently struggling with and work through them together to find your own answers rather than having to accept advice and guidance based on the experience of others. That way you can find solutions which are unique to you and your own experiences.
My extensive experience in neurodivergent assessment and support has informed and developed the way I approach all of my work. Supporting people as they navigate the often stressful process of diagnosis has highlighted, for me, the different ways we all see and respond to each other and ourselves as we navigate our paths through life.

I really cannot recommend Atholl highly enough. We started working together at a point where I felt I was at my lowest. The year before had brought bereavement, relationship breakdown and a diagnosis of a mental illness that I had been coping with in my own way for most of my life. I was familiar with talking therapy through other providers and though not bad experiences they didn’t seem to have dealt with many of the underlying issues I was facing. I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever find a way of living that felt right for me.
Atholl has taken the time to understand me and the struggles I have day to day; in doing so he has helped me to finally understand them myself. He has approached our sessions with the expected professionalism but also a genuine care and curiosity about my situation and how I can work towards the things that I would like to achieve. I dreaded the idea of having to work with long term talking therapy (if I’m truly honest, because it seemed like a waste of time to me). Atholl has made this bearable (sometimes fun) but most importantly it has often been some of the most useful time I have spent in my week.
